SHmeetingbCATA implementing the project entitled "TB Control in Factory and Elderly/Vulnerable Group" since December 2007 with currently 19 factories. Stakeholder meeting is one key activity of the project was conducted on August 4th, 2011 by preside over by by HE Dr. Mao Tan Eang, Director of PR / CENAT. This workshop was held with 60 participants from CENAT, garment factory, companies, medical health department, referral hospital, health center, NGO, and staff of CATA.
The purpose of this meeting is to build the relationship with partners in order to share lesson learns of implementing the control TB in workplace project.

Dr. Mom Ky, Acting Executive Director of CATA welcome all participants and a summary of the project from the beginning. He said that only 6 factories was involved when starting this project in 2007, some of them have hundreds of workers and some have larger amount. Currently, CATA sign MOU with 19 factories and the five year results of 475 suspected TB referred including 32 BK+, 24 BK- and 15 EP. Most of TB patients accessed DOT in the workplace with factory health staff and 6 patients were disconnected after a month of treatment. Dr. Mom Ky also mentioned about the new initiate ideas on setting up peer in the workplace and to strengthen the relationship between health center staff and factory health staff.

In his opening remark, H.E. Dr. Mao Tan Eang expressed that he very delighted to participate this event because of all stakeholders from difference workplaces come to share experiences and lesson learn relevant to TB control in the workplace. He mentioned about the high risks of TB toward hundreds people working together in the same room and he encouraged all participants from factory, health center and relevant NGOs working together to help factory workers freely in preventing and curing TB. Finally, he supports this event and push health center staff and factory health staff build up more communication by increasing the amount of TB suspected and treatment.

Ms. Un Sopheak, HR Manager / Sprotext Industry Co., Ltd share experiences related to the coordination with CATA on the promotion of TB in the workplace. She also shared lesson learnt related to the process of signing MoU with CATA for health education in place.

Dr. Team Bakhim, vice-director/CENAT, Dr. Long Lavy, vice-director/MHD, Dr. Chhim YuthSamphy, OHD, and Mr. Ly Tekheng, Operations Manager/GMAC has been invited to be guest speaker for the round table discussion that focusing on "How to run the project activities smoothly". They agreed together to find the solution while implementing the project by increasing verbal communication. Dr. Team Bakhim admired the existing communication channels and he proud of the CATA's project initiated. He suggested to all relevant stakeholders to expedite the suspected case referral and treatment. Mr. Ly TekHeng mentioned that with 13 years working experiences with factories, he has never met the project work smoothly but it's just a better situation. He said that this is the first time to attend meeting with NGO working on TB, he promised to convey this information and warning to all factories, focusing on TB.

After forum panel H.E. Dr. Mao Tan Eang delivered the certificate of appreciation to all representatives from health center, referral health center and factory.
