25_11_11bOn Friday 25 November 2011, CATA in collaboration with staff from the health center and village volunteer conducted small TB education to 29 villagers living in Phum 3, Sangkat Chrang Chamres 1, Khan Dangkor, Phnom Penh. Mr. Pov Kin, a nurse KM9 HC, delivered TB messages to villagers by focusing on symptoms of TB, TB transmission and treatment, in addtion, Ms. Phin Somaly, CATA Program Officer also recapped to ensure all TB messages were acquired with a clear understanding. Two participants raised two questions related to TB signs that link to their family current health status. Mr. Pov Kin also makes an appointment with them to conduct the examination of smears of TB.







28_11_11dOn Monday 28 November 2011, CATA in collaboration with health center staff and village volunteer conducted small TB education to 34 villagers living in Phum Kean Klang, Sangkat Prekleap, Khan Ruesey Keo, Phnom Penh. After Mr. Ngoun Sovann, Chroy Changva nurse, delivered TB messages to villagers, Ms. Phin Somaly, CATA Program Officer summarized by focusing on TB symptoms, TB transmission and treatment to ensure all TB messages were acquired with clear understanding. Four participants were raised questions related to TB signs, TB types and raise about the highly expense on TB treatment in the past toward their family. Dr. Ngoun Sovann responded to those questions and mentioned again about free TB treatment in the local health center. The community members promised to share TB messages to others and will inform VHSG in case of suspected TB patient. A villager named Sim Ratana, 35, were raised a health situation of a grandma living in the vicinity of her house. She said that the grandma's signs similar to TB symptoms and she suggested us to visit grandma home. After the health campaign we continue to visit grandma with village health provider named 'Chib'. Grandma named 'Mao', 58, currently leaving with her two daughters; she coughed up blood around 8 months with continuing use anti-influenza medicines provided by private doctor in the community. Ms. Mao said that she used to visit KM9 HC to detect TB, but after smear test a doctor said that I have no TB. She confirmed that she never screen her lung. Ms. Chib pushes her to use the system treatment in place with free services for finding TB. Ms. Mao agreed and promised to give her sputum the next early morning through provided sputum container to Ms. Chib.
